The Law Is For The Flesh, Natural Man; Christ is for the New Creation (I Tim. 1:9)!
The Law held us in bondage like chains. The law is the power of sin in reproducing what we have sown.
I Cor. 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. The ministry of the law was to expose, judge, and condemn bringing all of us into guilt through the personal knowledge of sin!
II Cor. 3: for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? The Law is a ministry of death and condemnation to sinners and sin nature and has no power to change us or in anyway make us holy. It's sole purpose was to bring us to Christ Jesus and into grace! Ga 3:24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Ga 3:25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Booklets
The Booklets listed here expand greatly on the importance of understanding why we need to put away the law! The law has blinded us and veiled our eyes from walking in the fullness of the Spirit and putting our trust in His grace. The Law hinders us from living in the power of God! 2Co 3:14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 2Co 3:15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. The law came through Moses but truth and grace has come through Jesus Christ! (John 1:17)
He has become our completeness and in Him is the gift of righteousness! (Rom. 5:17) We stand forgiven for all of our sin (past, present, and future) based on the finished work of Christ. (Heb. 10:14) We are no longer under the law, bound in the elements of this world, but have been translated into a new kingdom with new rules. (Gal. 4:3: & Col.1:13) The New rules are: we relate to God through the Spirit in our personal relationship to Jesus. We no longer relate to rules and regulations (The Ten Commandments), and requirements of the Law of Moses. As long as we continue to keep the Law it veils our eyes from seeing Jesus. (II Cor. 3:18) Our liberty from guilt, condemnation, shame, and darkness is found in embracing and asserting the new creation and putting away the Law! (Rom. 8:1 & Gal. 5:1) Grace is the newness of life that has given to us all things we could never have achieved, earned, or found through keeping the law. (Rom. 6:4) Grace leads us into God's love, acceptance, and belovedness always. We are free from judging ourselves or anyone else according to the flesh because the requirements and judgments of the Law have been satisfied in Christ's atonement (Fulfilled).
